History Of Arunella Foundation
The Tsunami disaster was a major disaster in the recent past and Sri Lanka was a country which was badly affected by it . About 35000 lives were lost and about 900000 houses were damaged by Tsunami . Galle City was highly effected and Thelwaththa Train inciden, Which took thousands of lives took place proximate to Galle . Here the young persons took leadership to bring the helpless people to secure places to provide food , health , sanitary facilities and to strengthen these victims mentality . This volunteer youth group continuously provided their services and provided their help in combination with volunteer groups of United Nation , World vision , C.C.F. Red Cross etc. Later these youths developed their own organization which is known as ‘ Arunella Foundation ‘ The programs were launched to meet the Economical and Social issues of the community with the local and foreign aids . Arunella Foundation is an registered non -governmental organization which is engaged in community development work , since year 2004 .

Worked as a television news and program anchor. Diploma holder in Social Mobilization. Worked as Operations Manager, Project Coordinator and Project Officer in several NGOs.
Dr. Wimal Disanayeke

He is a trainer and expert in social science curriculum, Rural development, community development, participatory development, social animation, microfinance process, poverty alleviation, small group methodology. About 10 books have been published together with the government about these related fields. In 1988, he has worked as an international training research officer in the research process of poverty analysis done by the World Bank.He has conducted training research jointly with Regan University of the Netherlands and New Delhi University of Good Governance. He is also working as an external lecturer at Sri Jayawardenepura University.

A senior lecturer in the Department of Geography, University of Sri Jayawardenepura. Coordinator of the AHEAD project, Department of Geography. B.A. (Special) Degree in Geography, First Class University of Sri Jayewardanepura – 2002/2003, M.Phil Degree in Geomorphology/Geology, University of Peradeniya, Certificate Diploma in Geology, University of Moratuwa – 2009. Has written more than 20 research papers and books.

An international relations professional. The founder of the education scholarship program for poor children in collaboration with various international organizations, the president of the India Sri Lanka Theravada Bhikkhu Organization, etc. holds positions.

Worked as a project officer in several non-governmental organizations. Acts as a social activist for the protection of human rights and violence against women. Works as a social media analyst and community journalist. He works as a trainer in the areas of capacity development, leadership skill development and mentoring.

Chairman of Dharani Swashakthi Foundation, member of VOM Network, and a trainer for HIV prevention programs. A consultant on immigration services. CAP Committee Member and Information Coordinator of the Global HIV/FSW Project. Also works as a freelance writer.
